Get ready, it’s time for the second annual WDAFL meeting! This year it will be held at
the beautiful Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale (thegrandoaks.com) on November 15
horses are invited as well!!
The event will kick off at 5:30pm with an open cash bar social. Dinner shall follow
with a casual style buffet featuring hoagies, homemade soup, one side, Caesar salad
and iced tea. The evening will include our guest speaker Marsha Hartford Sapp, the
business meeting, a raffle, and of course, the endofyear awards.
We encourage everyone to come and enjoy an evening of fun, education, and
fellowship…..bring your family and invite your friends, young and old, it will be a
great time for all!
If interested in bringing your horse(s), Grand Oaks offers amazing trail riding on the
340 acre property. Stalls are required, no tie-outs per Grand Oak. Day fees are $20
per horse per day (this is for any and all trail riding on the property), The arena can
be rented if any individual or group would like to look into that, please call Grand
Oaks to arrange. Stall fees are $35 per night. You may bring your own shavings or
purchase on site. Stalls are required to be cleaned before leaving. You must make
your horse(s) reservation before arriving……Call 352-750-5500, ask for resort office.
I plan on bringing my two horses!
The Grand Oaks does offer overnight accommodations in the form of cabin rentals,
they also offer LQ hook-ups. Again, call the above phone number for information,
rates and reservations. We also have a host hotel, about 10 min away, Comfort
Suites The Villages. You can book a 2queen bed or 1king bed for $75.60 (plus tax), just
mention the meeting dates and ”Florida horse show rate”. Comfort Suites address: 1202 Avenida

Now, the MOST important part: We need you to pre-pay for the dinner, ($20.00
