I would like to thank the board of WDAFL for awarding me the Grant for First Time participant at the State Championship Show. I am a Amateur rider showing Intro on my
horse Tiki. I had a great time at the show and everyone was very nice and it was fun to ride with Ladies and Gentlemen I had been watching just a couple of months before on my computer as they competed at the World Show. I would like to thank Natalie Cox and Wendy Jefferies for introducing me to Western Dressage and Hannaha Williams for lessons along my journey. But most of all my partner in crime, Dawn Thompson, my friend who pushes me to be my best and step out of my box and to set goals and stick to a plan for reaching them.
I am a 51 year old rider, I take care of my mom who has been in and out of the hospital for the past several years suffering with copd. I am adjusting to being recently divorced and I work a lot of hours. I would love to ride under a trainer but I don’t have the money or time, so I do the best I can, set small goals and enjoy my horse every chance I get. Everyone at the show was so nice, I met some really nice riders and the show was very well run and I am looking forward to coming back next year to show.
