About Amanda Kopak Hiser

Amanda Kopak-Hiser’s passion for horses began at the age of 8, but it wasn’t until her move to Florida in 1999 that she was able to purchase her first horse and fully immerse herself in the world of equestrian sport. Her journey has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2011, she joined a mounted drill team, where she found her passion for precision riding, and in 2019, she took the reins as coach of the Silk and Sable Mounted Drill Team, where she continues to inspire others.

Outside the saddle, Amanda works in accounting, balancing the numbers while fueling her passion for horses in her free time. Her connection with horses deepened further when she began working for CPonies Beach Horseback Rides. It was there that she met Suzi’s Big Hot Rod in Heaven—affectionately (most of the time) known as Ahi, or “The Big Tuna.” What started as a chance encounter quickly evolved into a partnership that would change both their lives. Determined to unlock Ahi’s potential, Amanda ventured into western dressage in 2020, despite Ahi’s challenging attitude and less-than-stellar work ethic. Her dedication only grew, as did her bond with Ahi, pushing them both to succeed at every level of competition.

Together, Amanda and Ahi have accumulated many Grand and Reserve World Champion titles, alongside several top-10 finishes and multiple Grand and Reserve Champion USED Horse of the Year. Amanda’s journey reached a significant milestone in 2024 when she earned her Silver Medal through the WDAFL, and Ahi’s Silver Medal through WDAA.

Amanda believes that anyone can excel at Western Dressage with determination, hard work, and a clear vision. Through setting goals, she proves that persistence pays off, and her journey serves as a testament to the power of dedication and the deep connection between a rider and their horse.
