Many thanks to WDAA for the grant allowing me to participate in this clinic with Charlotte Trentelman. It was so much fun to work with Charlotte. The new exercise she provided me to improve my canter departs was a simple and very effective change that I will be able to remember. The release technique she gave me for my hands, lighten and relaxed my horse and we had a lot of fun with the stretching and bringing him back. Also, we worked on lengthening his stride in the canter, what an eye opener to how much work Merle and I have ahead of us as we move up the levels. Charlotte is very knowledgeable and imparts her knowledge with kindness and effective aids that I’ll be able to continue to use riding independently of an instructor. I’m excited to use these new techniques on my own and watch my progress with Merle.
