Jeanne Tracy’s love of horses began at age 12 when her family moved from New York City to the “country”—which, as Jeanne likes to point out, was actually New Jersey! Her mom thought country living called for pony camp, and after that first summer, Jeanne was hooked. In her early 20s, she purchased her first horse, Goldie, a palomino mare, and spent years enjoying the trails.

At 32, Jeanne took her first formal dressage lesson and immediately fell in love with the discipline. The night before her first show, however, a serious riding accident left her struggling with fear and ultimately stepping away from riding. She continued to enjoy horses through her daughter while working to regain her confidence, eventually returning to the saddle in 2018 and showing on the AQHA circuit.

After moving to Florida, Jeanne began riding with an APHA trainer, but her heart remained in dressage. When she discovered Western Dressage and took her first lesson, she knew she had found where she belonged. Jeanne began competing in virtual shows as well as WDAA/USEF-recognized competitions and quickly developed a passion for the discipline and its supportive community.

Jeanne lives in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, is the proud mother of three children, and enjoys a career in healthcare administration. She is honored to serve on the Board of the Western Dressage Association of Florida and looks forward to supporting and promoting the sport she has grown to love.
